Kenya is a new adventure for us. As we toured the city yesterday in the process of doing errands we saw the sights. Many things seemed somewhat familiar…bad roads, crazy drivers, roadside vendors. All much like Russia for us and Philippines for Deb. Poverty was evident at every turn. We ask Lord how do we help and what is your plan for us here. Our time of ministry began today with a visit to Joogo (spelling ?) Girl’s school. Jan spoke and both her and Deb prayed for several of the girls. Many of them have heavy concerns for young girls. We are praising the Lord for Jen who made Jesus Lord of her life today. That was exciting. Please pray for these girls. Dale preached at the Brethren church where Moses attends. Tomorrow we will go to the village for a week. Lord willing we will get you some updates from there.

Kenya bound…London stop
Friday, October 22nd, 2010London Heathrow Friday Oct 22. We are waiting for our flight to Nairobi. Dale is sleeping. It is the middle of the night Michigan time. So far all is well. There are lots of people in this busy place all hurrying about to get to gates. It is a great spot for people watching. In a few hours we will be with Moses.
Departure is near… Kenya.
Wednesday, October 20th, 2010We are packing and getting ready for Kenya. Dale is putting finishing touches on a remodel job he has been working on. It is so amazing we are finally going. It has been a 6yr wait for God’s timing. Now it is here. I stand in awe what the Father has done and wait with expectation of great things He will show us in Kenya. Tomorrow is our departure. I hope we can stay connected and keep you updated.
Widows in Need
Friday, October 1st, 2010Widows around the world struggle to survive. Some are able to work, some live on government pensions. Many need supplemental help with the basic needs of life. Soon we will be heading to Kenya. We will be visiting the widows. Many live a simple life in poor villages where people face hunger daily. There is a need to provide chickens and goats to the widows. These animals will provide them with food and possible income. One chicken cost $5. One goat cost $30. If you would like more information please CONTACT US. Time is short before our planned departure.
KENYA IN OCTOBER
Wednesday, September 29th, 2010Pastor Moses After nearly five years travel plans are in process for a trip to Kenya in late October. In faith we are preparing for a two week trip that we hope will be the first of many trips to come. Our ministry partner in Nairobi is Pastor Moses Omandi, director of Teens for Christ Kenya and administrator of Echoes of Mercy Ministries. He is planning a full schedule for us including building, orphans outreach, visiting widows and AIDS victims, along with opportunities for seminars for both men and women. Joining us on this trip will be FOV board member Debra Niswander. As an active youth leader in her church and a former missionary she will be a great asset to the team. Travel dates are not yet confirmed. There are still many details to put in place but we are trusting the Lord to meet the needs. We hope you will join us in prayer for this new adventure. If you would like more details please contact us.
